Snowflake Geometry: Diamonte Poem

Bell Ringer:  101 Questions

Lesson/Close:

So, we wrapped up our Snowflake Geometry activities today.  I wanted to wrap it up with a diamonte poem that shows how snowflakes and geometry are connected. I got lucky and found a free resource on Teachers Pay Teachers that turned out to be a great guide for the kids:

We began by brainstorming together nouns, verbs, and adjectives for "snowflakes" and then for "geometry."  I was really pleased, and a little surprised, with their word choices.  Next, we used the template to create the poem.  Finally, students rewrote their poem on a small piece of white paper.  This was then attached to their snowflake's black paper.  We will showcase these above lockers.
