Welcome to my math blog! The purpose of this blog is to help you stay informed about our learning and experiences that have taken place during our math class. I have also included links your child (and you) may want to use in order to supplement math learning in 5th grade.

Technology Introduction

After our warm up, during which I introduced the Divisibility Rules that help us find all the factors of any number, we headed to the computer lab to look at the websites that will be crucial to every 5th Grader's success in math!
We began by going to www.awe5.blogspot.com to view the AWE 5th Grade blog.  At this site, I asked them to choose the link Math With Mrs. D.  Once you have reached this page, it is easy to login to the math sites!

For example, one part of the homework tonight is to complete an xtramath multiplication exercise.  Once students have gotten to Math With Mrs D, they can find the link to xtramath on the left side of the page under Math Links.
The second part of the math homework is to answer my blog at kidblog.  Again, the students can find the link (and the easiest way to login) at Math With Mrs. D.  This time, look on the right side of the page.  Find the heading Kidblog, then choose the math class you are a part of, find your name and login!  Hopefully, this went more smoothly than my explanation!

Every student received a sheet of paper with every username and password that they might need (so far) this year.  I have asked them to keep it in the back of the yellow folder so that it travels to and from school with them.  Feel free to explore each of these sites with your child!
