Converting Mixed and Improper Fractions: Rotation Day C

Guess My Number

Lesson Frame:
  • We will rotate through stations practicing converting mixed and improper fractions.
  • I will “show what I know”  about converting mixed numbers to improper fractions.
Lesson:

Group 1 spent 35 minutes in Content Mastery for intervention and then had a 15 minute rotation with me covering converting mixed numbers and improper fractions using the "cootie catchers".

FREE self-checking mixed numeral/improper fraction puzzle set

Group 2 and 3 worked on Think Through Math and then solved a "Self-Checking Math Puzzle: Examining Mixed Number & Improper Fraction Relationships."

Group 4 started with me using "cootie catchers" to practice converting mixed and improper fractions. Their second rotation was to work on Think Through Math.

Improper Fractions & Mixed Numbers Task Cards

To finish off our week of converting mixed and improper fractions, I created a quiz using task cards from "Mixed Number & Improper Fractions:  Task Cards for my kids to "show what they know."   This was a little tougher because they were asked to apply their knowledge of converting, not just convert.
